Small Bathroom Reno Week 5: Jeffrey Court Reno Challenge

We’re back with week FIVE of this Jeffrey Court Renovation Challenge! This week over at our house is all about the last big details before we move on to the fine-tuning. I’m super nervous at this point, the bathroom looks great but… being on a time crunch has me *stressed* – there is so much left to do! This renovation is a little different for me because it’s being included within a full basement reno that we’re working on at the same time plus I’m 7 months pregnant. So things like framing/drywall, etc are being hired out and some of the time frame is out of my hands which… I don’t.. love… lol. Also it’s been lowkey a struggle to get some of the things done without pushing myself too hard.

Anyways, on to the positive things in the bathroom reno!

We had the walls mudded and taped, by far the messiest thing I’ve seen lol. I’ve never been a part of this process and I had no idea how much of the mud got everywhere. And the dust! So much dust! Literally all the dust! Tomorrow we start on painting and adding in the trim and *duh duh duuuh* THE TILE! Finally – I’m so freaking excited because this is going to make the space!

In the way of photos, I don’t have too much to share with y’all. This is where I’m (still) at bathroom wise. Don’t panic! I’m not panicking! It’s fine, I’m fine, we’re all fine LOL. I hope to have some amazing photos next week for you though!

In case you needed a refresher of what it’s *going* to look like by the end of week 6, here is the design board I shared at the beginning…

And here is the finalized design board after some final tweaking. You can see how things adjust and change (I love this process so much).

A tip for creating a design board is to use Canva. It makes it a million times easier to choose hardware, see how the colours work together, etc. I have so much fun making these and it really helps my husband too! I can go on and on about details for a project, but he’s a visual person and just can’t see the finished version when I’m describing without actually seeing something concrete like this lol.

So to recap, here’s what we have left to do with 2 weeks left of this challenge!

  • paint the bathroom walls
  • tile the shower & wainscotting (this pretty tile from Jeffrey Court Tile will be going on the floor)
  • install the vanity & update the knobs
  • install the vanity light (waiting for this to arrive still)
  • build & install the wood shelves
  • add bathroom decor and finishing touches

No big deal right? LOL I can get this finished though! Make sure to come say hi on my Instagram – I’m sharing more details over there and the process of our whole basement as well!

Thank you to Jeffrey Court Tile, Frog Tape, and Sinkology for sponsoring this post!
