New Dining Room Drapery!

** Sharing this post from my drafts from last spring. I realized I have a lot of blog posts made that I never made live as life got a little chaotic for me in 2023 lol. I made sure to bring these blinds with me to my new home and wouldn’t you know it, they look amazing there too. I’ll make sure to update with a post soon! xx

Last week I installed my new dining room drapes, this was the last thing I needed to do to this space to complete it. I can’t wait for you to see how everything came together but FIRST, I have to show you the before so you can really appreciate the after!

Adding window treatments is one of those projects that makes such a big impact to a room and it’s so easy to do. Especially in a room that has a lot of windows. The natural light is so beautiful, but sometimes the corners of a window frame can make a room feel al bit harsh. Fabric just soften all of that out.

This is my dining room before…

Regarding which style and colour I was going to choose, I struggled with narrowing it down. Q Design did all of the curtain rods and drapery – they have beautiful custom drapes and so many options to choose from. Lindsay from Q Design helped me throughout the process, we decided on a sheer linen drape that wouldn’t take away from the light in this room.

Installation was really easy,

I always recommend to hang your drapes high and wide, even if you have nice high windows. It make the room feel much higher and grand. My curtains were hung about 8 inches above the window frames, so the bottoms of my drapes would just graze the floor.

This is how the dining room looks now! So beautiful right? It feels so much cozier and pulled together now.

Here is a side by side so you can really see the difference adding drapery makes:

My favourite part of the drapes are…

the beautiful pleating at the top! Mine are a 4″ 2-fold pleat and I used their black curtain rings to attach everything together. Q Design has a bunch of options on their website for customizing your window treatments, difference sizing and curtain rod finishes as well. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to partner with them in this space, and the process was so wonderful! I’ll leave the details for everything below, as well as any product sourcing.

They’re so beautiful during my favourite time of day, I love how the light filters through ◡̈

I have all my links below, if you have any questions about sizing or need details, let me know in the comments! Q Design also gave me a promo code to share with you! If you want to try some fabric swatches, use my code BLUSHSWATCH10 for 10 free swatches, or BLUSHHOME10 to save 10% off your order.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
xx Megan
