Cozy Woodland Toddler Room

I’m so excited to start sharing some of my new home with you! I’ve shared the process more on my social media (IG and TikTok) but I haven’t taken the time to sit down and write out a post in a long (long) time. This little woodland-inspired room is so fun and so cute! I’m honestly obsessed with how it turned out! My style has definitely changed and I feel so much more like myself since ending my marriage last year and being able to take stock of my life.  I think this has come out in my decor a bit as well to be honest.

My daughter’s little room is totally finished (…at least for a while). I tend to procrastinate like it’s my job so the things I want to finish up are at the end of a long to do list lol. Painting the closet door and adding in some darker tones are on that list (I would love to add in some dusty blue). Swapping out the dreaded early 2000’s boob light is another one on my list. The window treatments and light fixtures in this home are a real menace lol. You can really see the visuals in this little home walk through I shared.

First things first: Paint.

When I moved in, the previous owners had offered a paint credit, which was wonderful! I hired painters to give the entire main floor a coat of white (Alabaster by Sherwin Williams) just as a good starting point. The house was real taupe-y and dingy so this made a huge difference. So having paid for painters, I’ve put a pin in my painting plans for a bit. Seems a little counter-productive to have everything painted just for me to go over it all again a month later.

The rooms in this home are such a great size, same with the closets! Choosing which rooms the kid’s would make their own was so easy. This room was perfect for my youngest. There’s lots of space and storage, plus it’s right beside my room so I can check on her easily throughout the night.

The woodland, ‘painted’ wallpaper is so fun,

It really made a fun focal point for this space, and I love that I was able to shop my home to finish up this room.

I swapped the girl’s rugs around and brought this darker, navy rug in. The bookshelf was homeless in the basement without an actual place to go, and it works so great in here! To think I was going to get rid of it… I think it sort of resembles a tree and looks really cute with the woodland canvas painting wallpaper, no?

Details make the room!

I purchased the cute scalloped bookshelves here, and painted them a pretty pink. The other items I’ve had for years (I’ll link what I can, and any dupes for what I can’t below for you ◡̈ )

wicker bunny- HM (sold out) | rechargeable batteries with charger | scalloped wall shelves | wildflower book

This before and after though, I’m obsessed!

area rug | velvet curtains | crib – Ikea | disco ball | stool – HomeSense | sheepskin rug – Costco (similar)

How is that ^ the same room and the same angle, truly.

I’m really happy with how it turned out, it’s such a cozy, happy space and my heart is so full that I know my kid’s feel like home when they’re with me at our house. They just love this little home ♥

I shared a few before and after’s here, here, and here if you wanted to check those out too!

xx Megan
