Cozy Holiday Finds & How I Styled Them

I obviously love Christmas decor like twinkly lights, flocked trees and bottle brush trees everywhere. There’s something about decorating *cozy* though too, with textures and pillows and low lighting. I found some great cozy holiday finds from Walmart, and I had fun partnering with them for this post! There is a ton of affordable items in store and online (both in the US and Canada, but the stores do have different inventory available).

Our wintery bedroom this year

I have my daughter’s crib tucked in beside our bed for easy night feedings (she’s 5 months) so the room is a little… full in this season of life. I kept things very simple, decorating for the holidays with faux sheepskin rugs, lots of warm, comfy linens and bedding and some simple art prints. I have a few little trees on the dresser too and they would be really pretty with some twinkle lights too.

Timeless pieces that can be used throughout the season are great items to invest in. Sheepskin throws, duvet covers in soothing colours, and simple throw pillow covers are all easy to put away and focusing on textures instead of trendy prints means you can use them year after year. I have a collection of faux sheepskins in white and browns that I absolutely loooove. They’re so cozy! I like to toss them over the backs of chairs, on the floor beside the bed and at the foot of our bed as well. They’re one of my favourite holiday decor items.

I linked a few more great festive finds from Walmart home here,

they have a whole section on their website dedicated to cozy holiday goodies here as well.

I think I need this wearable blanket in my life though. Send the memo to my husband lol.

We kept our decor quite simple this year, I feel like I’ve been in a blur with the new baby and life and all of that and just haven’t had the time or energy to really go all out so bringing in a wintery *feeling* throughout the house has been more my style I think.

I kept our Christmas trees fairly bare, with just a few ornaments and some hand-tied bows. And then sprinkling a few bottle brush trees on our mantle has been pretty much it.

How did you decorate this year? Were you feeling it and went all out or was it more simple and minimal? Ps there’s only SEVEN more days until Christmas!! I’m sharing my stocking stuffer ideas for kids tomorrow so make sure to check that out if you haven’t finished up yet!

xx Megan
