5 Cute Ways to Make Your Home Extra Festive!

Sponsored by Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP, all opinions are my own.

I adore this time of year, it’s so cozy and festive. This is a hot take but I don’t even mind the super early sunsets! The sun starts setting at 4 p.m. (and doesn’t rise until 9 a.m. lol) so the nights are pretty long over the winter. I’ve been puttering around the house the past few weeks slowly adding festive touches to our home and making it feel extra cozy and full of happiness! The holidays are a great time to think about what makes you happy, inspires you and keeps you optimistic.

I’ve partnered up with Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP to inspire you to recognize the power of optimism and what they call “Poptimism”. Starting with your home, here are a few easy tips for you to get into the holiday and POPTIMISTIC spirit!

No 1. Swap your old tea towels for some fun holiday inspired ones

You can find the cutest tea towels this time of year and they’re such an easy way to add a little festive cheer to your kitchen. I found this adorable trio a few years ago and it’s one of those small things that bring me joy. When the season is over, I wash all the linens and pack them away in my Christmas bins so they’re out of the way.

No 2. Actually, let’s switch out all the holiday textiles this season!

I have a little collection of throw pillow covers and I’ll switch out my living room pillows for some soft velvet covers and then bring out my kitschy Christmas pillows (this Santa one is a favourite of mine!) I also drape faux sheepskin rugs over the back of our couch (they’re actually all over the house; tucked under coffee tables, on beds lol, literally everywhere). I like to pack away the light throw blankets and bring out some heavier ones and chunky knits as well.

No 3. Disco balls are the best!

This disco ball is one of my favourite things ever. I keep it on our console table so when the afternoon sun peeks through our windows it makes the prettiest sunshine glimmers in the house. A few weeks ago I bought a bunch of mini disco balls too and they’re so adorable. It’s a super easy way to add some sparkle to your home!

No 4. Coffee tastes better out of a Christmas mug

I have a small collection of holiday coffee mugs that get pulled out of the Christmas bins in November. They make everything so much more fun and this little Rudolph mug holds my coffee spoons in my little coffee corner. I would love to have a proper coffee bar one day and display them over the holidays but for now, this little corner will do. I’m obsessed with making oat milk lattes lately, so I’m in this corner a lot lol. I swear the coffee really does taste better out of a cute mug!

No 5. Keep festive snacks close by for those Hallmark movie marathons

I live for cheesy Hallmark movies this time of year. It’s literally the same plot every movie and I’m here for it. Good snacks are a must though (I’m a big tv snacker) and I’m telling you the Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP White Chocolaty and Peppermint Flavoured Drizzled Kettle Corn is soooo good! With 0 g of trans fat, it is non-GMO, gluten-free and whole grain.  Perfect for the holidays with the subtle peppermint and is a great snacking option to keep stocked in the pantry. It’s very Christmas-y with the perfect amount of white chocolaty drizzle. I love bringing out a bowl for family game nights too! We have family in and out all season so tasty snacks need to be on hand.  Angie’s has another amazing holiday flavour: the Dark Chocolaty Drizzle Sea Salt Kettle Corn and you have to try it out as well!

BOOMCHICKAPOP’s holiday-inspired flavours are the perfect treat for any winter occasion, satisfying all your seasonal cravings in one bite.

This season goes by so quickly so I try and soak it up before it’s gone! This year I’ve been so slow to get my decorations up (I have tiny pockets of time throughout the day with my 4 month old where I can actually get things done). Little changes like I shared above have helped get me in the Christmas spirit and make our home feel festive despite our *actual* Christmas decor lacking.

I created a holiday decorating video for TikTok too so check that out here!
