I’m so excited to partner with Jeffrey Court and participate in their 2021 Renovation Challenge. It’s Week One of the challenge and I can’t WAIT to share the space we’ll be making over! Our basement is currently in the process of being completed, Kiel and I will be doing a lot of the finishes ourselves and hiring out for the major things. For this challenge I’m going to be taking you along with me while I finish and design our new basement bathroom! It’s a small space with no window, so a little challenging to create a bright, open and functional bathroom – things like storage are so important because there is virtually none in this house!
Here’s the space!
^^ you can kind of see where the walls will be here with this drawing LOL
The starting off point is pretty much nothing,
just a corner in our unfinished basement. It’s hard to visualize the space but from this photo; the back wall will be some built in shelving and a tiled shower. We’re installing a tile wainscotting and a floating vanity to keep it light and airy.
I created a design board (I always recommend doing this! It’s a great way to see how patterns and colours go together and what a space will look like before committing to anything).
I was surprised at how much Kiel loved the green vanity! Yay! It’s a little more colour than he normally likes lol. So this is what we’re leaning towards right now with gold touches, wood accents and pretty white tile.. I’m so excited about the tile! I chose a beveled subway tile for the shower and a pretty hexagon tile for the flooring, both from Jeffrey Court.
I hope you follow along while we makeover this space!
I’ll be sharing the progress weekly along with lots of photos! Pop over to my Instagram @theblushhome for some behind the scenes in my stories!
