Urban Outfitter’s Ghost Pillow Dupe!

This little ghost pillow caught my eye the minute I saw it! Isn’t it cute! Perfect for fun Halloween decor around the house plus the kid’s LOVE this sort of thing. I figured I could easily recreate this with a few crafting supplies and it was the perfect little crafting date with a friend!

I picked up some sherpa fabric from the fabric store (it has to be sherpa to get the exact look as the Urban Outfitters pillow). Then some black felt, hot glue and thread. Easy! My friend and I made these in about 45 minutes so it was really quick!

First steps…

We started off by making a template for the ghost out of construction paper. We taped two pieces together and free handed a little ghost shape. Turn your fabric inside out and fold in half, then trace out the ghost template and cut it out. We sewed around the pillow, leaving about 6 inches open. Turn it inside out and lightly stuff it with pillow stuffing.  Carefully sew the opening close.

For the eyes, we drew out the shapes on the black felt and hot glued them on. I made a cute video here you can check out!

Isn’t he the cutest little ghost!

I am absolutely over the moon at how good this pillow is! It’s a total dupe for the Urban Outfitters pillow and the total cost was probably around $10 – $15 compared to the $50 from UO.

I think it looks adorable in kid’s rooms too – how fun is it on my daughter’s bed! The pillow is super soft and cozy so perfect for snuggling 🙂

What do you think? Would you make this fun pillow yourself? I have a few more cute Halloween inspired crafts I can’t wait to share with you but check out these posts for more DIY inspo as well!
