Tassel & Wood Bead Garland Card Holder

This is a fun and easy Christmas craft to do in an afternoon – it’s great for kid’s too actually! I made this cute wood bead and tassel diy card holder for Christmas cards during a craft night with some girlfriends. It was so fun to do and now I want to make like three more! They’re perfect for holding holiday cards, but think how cute this would be to hang children’s artwork? Or some polaroids or cute photos? You could omit the clothespins too and just make this a decorative garland as well. Can you tell I’m obsessed?

It’s very simple, you need some yard, medium sized clothespins and different sized wooden beads (Michaels, Amazon or even the Dollar Store sometimes carries them).

Step. 1

Measure out how wide you want the garland to be and cut a piece of normal yarn that size. Make sure it’s not too thick so you are able to string the beads on it. Wrap the one end in some tape.

Step. 2

Arrange a pattern with the beads, this took me a few tries since I couldn’t decide what pattern to do, in hindsight making the pattern before stringing the beads is a smarter way to go lol.

Step. 3

String the beads along the whole piece of yarn and tie a loop at both ends to secure the beads.

Step. 4

Make your tassels! Again we just used normal yarn in a beige sort of colour. Tie them on and then hot glue the clothespins into the middle of the tassel, so they’re hidden.

I hung this on our mantle earlier this month with another pom pom garland and loved how cute it looked!

I ended up using some command hooks to hang it above our piano to hold our Christmas cards this season. It’s just a cute little craft and I hope you love it as much as me! Pop over to my Instagram and I have a highlight saved on how I made this with more close ups and all that 🙂

Cheers!
