Somewhere for game nights, snacks, movie nights, and whatever else we end up doing down here 🫶🏼 I brought in this beautiful (and affordable!) walnut dining table (from @homcom_ca by @aosom_ca ) along with a set of their upholstered chairs I’m LOVING how everything is coming together! The table even extends to seat up to 8 people when we need a little extra room, which is pretty perfect for our large family 🙌🥰 We’ve already put it to good use, and I have a feeling this is going to be one of the most-used, well-loved spots in the house. Still a few things I’d love to add, but it’s feeling a lot more like us now! What would you add to a basement hangout space like this? Hanging chairs?? Or is that too much? I just love this lived-in house of ours 🥰🫶🏼 We re I just love this lived-in house of ours 🥰🫶🏼 We really did find the perfect home for all of us. Five kids, a handful of pets, my mom too, and somehow room for everyone haha. We moved in August and the last few months have been so, so good. There’s something pretty wonderful about finding your person and realizing how easy and fun life can be with someone who’s genuinely kind and thoughtful. It’s a kind of happiness I hadn’t experienced before, and I’m just really grateful for this little life we’ve made❤️ I’ve had a few questions about our home and family lately, so here’s a little Q+A along with a roundup of some cozy corners around here! ♡ **Does your mom live with you?** Yes! There’s essentially a mother-in-law suite on our property, so we’ve been making a beautiful, cozy little home for her there. Having her so close has been really wonderful, especially for the kids. ♡ **How many kids do you have?** We have five between the two of us! And honestly, one of my favourite parts of all of this has been seeing how much they love each other. They’re genuinely best friends, and now they get to grow up as family 😭🫶🏼 ♡ **Is your house finished/always this organized?** Absolutely not hahaha. There’s still so much I want to do around here, and I promise you it’s not nearly as tidy as Instagram might suggest. Angles, people. Angles 😂 ♡ **Is that a rug on your wall?** Yes 😂 I DIY’d a rug into a tapestry of sorts because I wanted some cozy texture and art on that wall. It was really just an experiment, but I actually love how it turned out! No idea what I’ll eventually do with that space, but for now the rug is staying haha Anyway, just a little life and home update mixed in with all the cozy things lately. A tiny sneak peek of the basement space, I finally A tiny sneak peek of the basement space, I finally got it cleaned up and organized (yay!) so I’ll share that asap! I had a few messages about the banana bread loaf recipe so I’ll share that in my stories & save to my gf highlight too! And if anyone was curious about the pumpkins, it’s been around for ages and works so good! Mix baking soda and paint, then paint it on 🍂 it creates a textured terra cotta like finish and sticks amazing to plastic!
