Delicious DIY Clementine & Coconut Body Scrub

delicious diy body scrub |clementine + coconut body polish|

I consider myself an exfoliation aficionado *ahem*. I love body polishes, diy body scrubs, facial exfoliator and dry brushes. I think it’s so good for skin to be scrubbed down plus it feels really refreshing. A good body scrub needs to not melt away immediately when you try to scrub it on your bod (I hate that, such a waste). I also like healthy oils to be included, so your skin is super soft and silky when the scrub is rinsed off. I was doing some recipe testing with different essential oils during the kid’s naptime, and came up with this delicious clementine and coconut body scrub. I love how this smells, plus it left my skin super soft!

Clementine + Coconut Body Polish

Ingredients

1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup white sugar
3 tb cup coconut oil, melted
1-2 tsp coconut flakes
1 clementine, zested
**optional** citrus essential oil

Directions

Mix the sugars in a small bowl, and add melted coconut oil. Mix well. Sprinkle in coconut flakes and clementine zest (you could also squeeze the juice of a clementine segment in) and if you have citrus essential oil, add in 4-5 drops. Mix well and scoop into an airtight container.

To use, scoop out a bit with your fingers, and scrub in circular motions on your skin in the shower. It will rinse off and leave a coconut oil sheen, moisturizing your skin and leaving it really soft and silky. This stuff is so bomb, I love it! Let me know below if you make it and share on instagram! Tag me in any pictures you post of your diy body scrub 🙂

** note ** This is specific for a body scrub because of the white sugar, the white sugar is too gritty to use on your face and can cause tiny micro tears because of it (micro-tears = wrinkles). If you want to make this a facial scrub, just use all brown sugar. It’s much softer and gentler on the skin and is great to use on the face.
