Black Woven Bench Makeover

I haven’t really done much in the way of DIYs since my little girl was born in the summer. If anything big needs to be painted I usually outsource it to Kiel lol. I’ve had a couple things on my list that I’ve been dying to cross off and painting this bench was one of them. I bought it from HomeSense a few years ago (but if you can’t find it or you don’t have a HomeSense near you I found it at another store here!). It’s super cute, quite comfy considering it has a woven seat, and it fits perfectly in so many spaces in my home. Since I moved some stuff around in the house, I switched up our dining table seating by bringing in this bench.

You can see how orange toned the wood is, especially compared to our table. It’s kind of bugged me for a while (hence being on my to-do list) but I never got around to it. The thing about these little projects is that they’re so QUICK, and then I wonder why I didn’t do it a year ago lol.

The easiest makeover and it looks SO much better don’t you think??

The makeover deets:

I used Tricorn Black (in a matte finish, it’s actually an exterior paint. I had a full can of it in the garage so that’s what I used). I painted two coats on and it was perfect. I LOVE how it turned out! It’s so cohesive with our chairs and makes the whole space look so much better. Seriously, I wish I did this last year hah!

I like to throw a faux sheepskin throw over it to make it extra cozy too. I’ve found really cute ones at Costco (where the brown one is from), Ikea, and also these longer throws here!
