Some Of My Favourite Self Care Tips

Some Of My Favourite Self Care Tips - Get Your Glow On! | The Blush Home

I just flew back from a really fun girl’s trip to LA and had the best time with my sister. All of that travelling honestly took a toll on my immune system though (always a fan of people wildly coughing in the open on flights – was no one taught the trick where you sneeze into your arm? Lol). My sister and I were so busy on our trip, we didn’t have nearly as much down time as we thought we would, so post-trip I’m taking some time out in the evenings to practice some self care and treat myself a little bit.

One of the things I have started doing,

is taking a multi-vitamin everyday. I started taking the Jamieson Multivitamin for Women Gummies and love them! They have a delicious berry flavour (my husband has always sworn by their gummy multi-vitamins, so I can say I’m a fan now too!). They are free from aspartame, artificial colours and flavours, and support immune function, metabolism and healthy skin. So much yes right there.

I’ve also started taking Jamieson Gentle Iron and Jamieson Collagen Anti-Wrinkle. In 28 days I will do an update and let you know how well the Collagen Anti-Wrinkle works! It has shown to reduce fine lines and wrinkles in 28 days and improve skin’s elasticity.

A few other of my favourite ways to treat myself…

(which can be really hard to carve out time for as a mom, you momma’s know how that goes!) are taking some time out in the evenings before bed to give my body a dry brush. If you haven’t tried dry brushing, you have too. It takes a little time to get used too, but it’s such a great way to detox your skin and lymphatic system.

Face masks are also another really relaxing treat. I have all kinds of masks that I use, some are store bought, others I make at home. For a really simple and easy detox face mask, mix up a little water and benonite clay, let it sit on your face until it dries and then wash it off and finish with a little skin care routine like what I do. Your skin will be really flushed where the mask was, this is good, there’s lots of blood flow and my skin always feels really soft and healthy afterwards.

Over the last few weeks I’ve started to be a little more diligent about my skin care routine because I never really have before. I apply some hyaluronic acid and vitamin C serum and let it soak in. Then I use a vitamin E facial oil blend and rub that into my skin. If I have really dry skin (which can happen in the winter for me), I apply a little straight shea butter to around my eyes and on any dry skin patches. In the mornings my skin is SO SOFT. It’s crazy.

I hope you’re inspired to practice some self care, whatever that means for you, but make it part of your routine because it’s so important to set that time aside for yourself.
