The Girl’s Guide To Los Angeles!

My sister and I just had the best trip in Los Angeles – a total girl’s trip and the most fun was had! I’m sharing all the must – see spots and fun things to do while in LA for a few days with your girlfriend/s. If you want to spot a celebrity, eat yummy food at pretty IG-worthy cafes and know where to go in Los Angeles, then this is your guide!

This is the second time this year Marcy and I travelled to Los Angeles. Our trip wasn’t meant to be a total tourist-trap trip, we wanted to skip the kitschy things this time around and spend time doing things we loved (things my husband and her boyfriend would 100% not have fun doing with us haha). Things like finding the cutest walls to take photos with, obnoxious and amazing coffee shops and wandering around Melrose and Beverly Hills (trying to snag a housewife sighting lol!). Oh AND spotting Angelina Jolie! Yessss! That really happened!

I’ve rounded up my 5 FAVOURITE things to do in Los Angeles!

  1. Go To A Movie Premier.
  2. The Cutest Coffee Shop.
  3. The Pink Wall.
  4. Delilah For Dinner.
  5. Take A Hike Through Runyon Canyon & Explore Mulholland Drive.

My sister and I were lucky enough to have the new Chevrolet Bolt Ev car to drive around LA.

If you’re nervous about driving in LA, don’t be!

I mean, yes it was actually crazy nerve wracking on our first trip there where we had to drive 3 freeways a hot second after leaving the airport (I live in a small city so driving a 10 lane freeway for the first time was horrifying LOL) but this trip we managed to avoid all the freeways. This is partly because of where we stayed. When we visited in the spring, we stayed in Venice but everything we wanted to do was over in West Hollywood, so every day we spent over an hour driving to WeHo – hitting all the freeways on the way lol. So this trip we stayed in West Hollywood and were able to enjoy cruising around in our cute red Bolt EV. I definitely recommend getting a car during your stay though – parking was actually really easy to find around the city and we were able to check out places and explore on our own, which we loved.

Also – did you catch that we were driving an electric vehicle??

So fun! It was such a quiet ride and the cutest vehicle ever. Marcy and I both walked away from this trip wanting one haha. We received it fully charged and didn’t have to charge it once during our stay – when we dropped it off, it actually still had half the charge left. That’s after cruising around LA for 5 days!

There are so many amazing places to see and things to do in Los Angeles. I’m keeping this list short and sweet but I’m planning on sharing a more detailed blog post on our trip which I’ll share soon!

The coolest thing we did was going to the Maleficent movie premier in LA!!!!!

Omg I cannot even handle that. We researched online before our trip which events would be happening, a quick google search will tell you – and we found that Maleficent would be premiering on the last day we were in Los Angeles. We took an Uber to the movie premier, which was happening at the El Capitan Theater in downtown LA. I don’t recommend driving to a premier – the streets are all blocked off and there is zero parking anywhere nearby.

Also total disclaimer here: we weren’t going to the movie premier thinking we would get in, I have no idea how to do that, so I can’t help you there lol. We just wanted to watch arrivals and see who was there and who was walking the red carpet. It was pretty packed when we arrived, and we were a little late. By the time we edged into a good spot, Elle Fanning had just walked by and Angelina was arriving. ANGELINA. She got out of her vehicle and walked by, saying hi to us fans. She is so beautiful in real life. Like ethereal. I could not stop staring at her haha, I’m a total fan girl! We saw a ton of celebrities at this event and it was really cool to see the behind the scenes of a movie premier.

^^ honestly just happy to be there haha

For a gorgeous coffee shop experience in LA,

I recommend checking out Coffee Dose on Melrose. It has total Instagram-worthy vibes and the coffee drinks are delicious. Try the turmeric latte! It was our favourite!

One of my favourite things is the pink wall on Melrose. It’s the funniest thing to see actual lines of Influencers taking photos by this wall. There are people werking it so hard by the wall and then a line up of others waiting their turn. Omg I love it, it’s so obnoxious LOL. If you’re in the area then you have to stop here. Melrose has a ton of pretty walls for photo taking though and most of them will have someone in front of them having a mini photo shoot – it’s so common here.

^^ werrrrrking it!

^^ don’t look too hard at what I’m doing here because tbh I really don’t know haha. Even worse is this was the best one LOL

One of the nights in Los Angeles, we made a reservation for Delilah (pro tip: you have to make a reservation or else you won’t get in). This is a total celebrity hot spot here in LA and I can understand why! The outside is really unassuming (just a door with a small Delilah sign out front) and once you walk in past the velvet curtain, it’s super swanky inside. Really low lighting, cozy booths, a stunning bar – it has a real 60’s vibe that Marcy and I were both loving. We ordered a bottle of wine and eventually tried a few appetizers too. The chicken sliders were fantastic! Like, some of the best I’ve ever had I think. They have live music every night and it was overall one of our favourite nights in LA. You have to go if your in town. Make sure you dress up though!

^^ Shhh you’re not actually supposed to take any photos in here!

Lastly, this is a total must-do!

Runyon Canyon is where so many celebrities go hiking. It’s a really pretty hike, not too difficult either and it’s a nice way to get a little fresh air. The views of the city are insane too – you can get some really pretty photos of the famous Hollywood sign too!

After the hike, grab some iced coffees and take a scenic drive through Mulholland. We were able to cruise around in our Bolt EV and admire all of the stunning real estate and mansions. There were a lot of celebrity home tour vans driving too, but they really only showed a lot of the old Hollywood homes – not what we were looking for, plus we wanted to enjoy everything at our own pace, admire the gated communities (well the entrances since we obviously couldn’t get in lol) and the insane vehicles everyone was driving. Another great reason why getting your own car in LA is so worth it. You can do things at your own pace!

^^ Stunning views

^^ This mansion though! There were so many gorgeous homes but hard to take photos of them!

Make sure to check out my highlights tab for LA – you can see some of the cute places we visited and more pics of the celebrities we saw!
