summer bucket list |10 fun things to do with two kids under three|

My 2 year old and I came up with a great summer bucket list and 10 fun things that we want to do now that the weather is warm and sunny out.

I can never decide which season is my favourite… I think it’s fall (sweater weather, all the beautiful colours and crisp air #hearteyes ), then snow starts falling and Christmas is around the corner (I loove Christmas), but then spring sneaks up on me and the pretty budding trees and fresh, warm breezes have me all mooney-eyed, but then summer shows up with warm sun rays and green grass ahh, I can’t decide which time of year I love more!

Currently it feels like summer around here and I’m living for it.  The snow has all melted (honestly, it usually snows May long where I live and this year it didn’t woo!) and our morning walks have been so lovely.  So I’m thinking ahead and of all the fun things we can do in the upcoming months.  I have a 4 month old and a 2 year old (well 2 years and 4 months), so keeping that in mind, we made a little bucket list for us. (I did this in the fall and winter as well – see, excited about every season lol.)

  1. Visit the petting zoo.
  2. Have a picnic in the park.
  3. Make a slip n slide
  4. Go camping (trying to figure out the logistics becaaause we don’t have a camper, I’m not tenting with a baby & toddler, plus Kiel is 6’6, making sleeping accommodations… interesting lol… possibly rent a camper for a week).
  5. Plant a bee/butterfly garden
  6. Go to a movie at the theatre (it will be M’s first time ever)
  7. Go strawberry picking.
  8. Make s’mores.
  9. Feed the ducks.
  10. Make giant bubbles.

I usually keep the list fairly manageable and around 10 different things.  I’m excited to make new experiences with my little guy (L is so young that she’s just along for the ride, really, haha)… but Bear is old enough now that he remembers so much and really enjoys learning and trying out different things.  Cheers to summer guys!

  1. Thank you! I’m glad you liked it and found some fun things to do with your nephew/nieces 🙂

  2. Thanks! Summer time is the best and we don’t get the longest season where I live lol, so I’m trying to soak it up!

  3. That’s a really good idea! Thanks for sharing – backyard camping would be fun thing to do with the kids 🙂

  4. I love all the seasons too!! But fall is my all-time favorite 😉 As far as camping goes, you could do a form of car camping or maybe buy a cheap tent and set it up in your backyard! There are lots of ways to camp inexpensively just to dip your toes in it.

  5. You are a lifesaver! I often wonder what I would do if I had to babysit my brother’s 3 yr old and 7 month old infant.
