Rug Tour In My Home

This is probably one of my most popular questions, where are my rugs from! I love them so much, and have been super lucky to have partnered with different rug companies as well, so I have the opportunity to try out new designs and styles. I have my favourites and I’ll share them all below with links as well! Almost all of these rugs are affordable and they often go on sale as well. Since I’m Canadian, I’ll include all my favourite Canadian stores to find beautiful rugs that are a great deal too!

Our Kitchen Runner:

I loooove this rug. It has the prettiest pink tone to it but it’s very subtle. It’s not washable *sad clown noise* so it’s risky having it right in the middle of our kitchen. So far no spills that have stained, I’ve been able to wipe out anything that’s dripped on it.

I also used these rug grippers so it wouldn’t slide around and I didn’t need to layer it with a nonstick rug pad. I love them and recommend, however, you can’t move the rug around so I vacuum and wash around it. Might give some people the ick but it is what it is lol. I don’t think our floors are hideously filthy that this is an issue hah!

Living Room Area Rug:

Omg I’ve cycled through a lot of rugs in here. Like I mentioned above, I’ve been very lucky to have companies reach out to me about partnering together on their rugs. Its a really fun opportunity for me to try out different styles and colours. I wouldn’t be changing our rugs out like this otherwise because it’s just not doable. So please don’t feel like it’s the norm or pressure to do so in your own home!

The current rug we have in here is this one. It lays lovely (doesn’t curl up or shift around) and the colour is really pretty. I love the pattern too!

This is the same rug in our basement, where I originally had planned to have it. It just doesn’t lay right over carpet. It bunches and shifts a lot so keep that in mind!

Here are some previous rugs we’ve had that you may have seen on my IG:

The jute rug underneath is an 8×10 and I have a 5×8 lighter rug on top.

Hallway Runner:

I’ve had this for about a year or so in here, I love it! It’s cozy and soft underfoot and has worn really well. (Also shop this cute olive tree here!)

Kid’s Share Room:

This is such a cute rug! I adore this print and it’s cozy and fluffy and doesn’t shed which is a win! I went into more detail about this room in this post.

Nursery Rug:

Such a pretty print! It’s really pink but subtle and just a cute rug. Very low pile so you would need a rug pad if you were laying over hardwood or tile. Here’s the fluffy white faux shag rug link as well.

Primary Bedroom Rug:

We’ve had a few different rugs in our room – these are my two favourites (this red one was the first rug I had in here and it’s now in our basement). When I switched to this neutral rug, I felt like it made the room so much calmer and soothing (which is what I was going for before the baby was born. I wanted more minimal and simple in here).

Don’t mind the smaller photos I took from my Instagram. This red rug is now currently in our basement. It’s beautiful and the print is so pretty. It’s a flat pile so if you were to put it on tile or wood flooring I would recommend a rug pad like this one.

Entryway Rug:

This is a washable rug, I love the print and it washes amazing too!

Where I shop for rugs in Canada?

I literally browse all the places when I’m looking for something for my home. I’ve found great furniture pieces or area rugs in some stores I wouldn’t normally think to look at too! I’ll list all the stores below that I will browse online as well as pop into if I can.

  • Simons (I love Simons, they have the cutest decor plus a ton of beautiful rugs at a great price)
  • HomeSense
  • Urban Barn
  • Home Depot
  • Costco (they have a great selection of affordable area rugs)
  • Bed Bath and Beyond (I tend to find smaller rugs here and usually on end caps clearance tbh)
  • Marshalls

If you have any Q’s about rugs in our home please lmk below in the comments! I share more about our rugs on my IG so come say hi over there too! Have a great day xx

More great home decor inspo!

  1. Hi! Thanks so much ◡̈ So a few quick tips: you always want your furniture legs to be on the rug and when in doubt, err on the larger side rather than smaller. A smaller rug will always make your space feel smaller, and vice versa. If there are a lot of square angles in your space, you can soften a rectangle rug by layering a sheepskin or a round rug in a different texture (think jute for example) to soften the edges too! Lmk if you want me to write a post about this! xo

  2. This is a lovely post. I enjoyed seeing your rug tour in your home. You have a beautiful home and a great sense of style. I love how you use rugs to add color, texture, and coziness to your spaces. Your rugs really make your rooms look inviting and chic.

I have a question, though. How do you choose the right size and shape of rugs for your rooms? Do you have any tips or rules for finding the perfect fit? I would appreciate your advice on this.

  3. Hi! Our kitchen runner is linked in this post from the top actually 🙂 It’s not washable though BUT I haven’t had any issues with spot cleaning or using my bissel cleaner on it!

  4. Where is the kitchen runner from? Love your home!!! I have a bit of a rug obsession — and we have 2 large rescue dogs – one who gets sick a lot and digs – – we have gone through 4 ish in a year
There comes a time when you can’t shampoo another time
    Thank you!
