Soft Grey and Blush Pink Nursery Reveal

nursery reveal |a soft grey + blush pink nursery| - take a look at this pretty nursery from A Dash of Mum Blog

I’m so excited to share L’s nursery reveal with you guys!  This little room has turned out to be one of my favourite rooms in our house.  It’s so soothing and calm, I love to nurse Lo in here while M plays with his toys on the floor.  We went with a warm grey on the walls (Benjamin Moore in Edgecomb Grey) and I’m obsessed with this paint colour!  It’s so pretty and soft.  I kept it neutral with blush pinks, creams and greys.

I love how cozy this nursery feels, I added a pretty faux fur rug to the floor and kept it simple with neutral linens (don’t mind the wrinkles!).

This crib is so lovely and I love the soft wash of grey.  I actually found this crib off of kijiji (I was looking for something inexpensive because I couldn’t fathom spending another $500+ on a second crib when M will be out of his soon enough).  Kiel wasn’t impressed with my frugality and just wanted me to go buy one lol #storyofmylife.  Well, I persuaded him to go pick up this cute wooden crib, and I should really have gone with him – it didn’t look anything like the pictures and was a weird, orange wood with uneven colour from sun damage.  It was taken apart when Kiel bought it, so he just brought it home without thinking about it, and once we tried to put it together, we realized it was a drop side crib – they’re illegal to sell nowadays!  Ugh.  Anyway, we took some of my leftover chalk paint from this barstool project, gave the crib three coats of paint and DIY’d an easy solution to the (dangerous) drop side crib issue.  It’s now our favourite piece in the nursery. (Glass half full lol.)

The dreamcatcher above the crib was a project that I shared here.

These shelves are another DIY that I did and I love how they turned out!  I adore a good shelf and have added them to almost every room in our house (I know, I know).  These were simple to make, I just cut down some pine, stained and sealed them, then secured them to the wall with some brackets.  (I can do a more in depth tutorial if you would like, let me know in the comments below!)

The wildflower printable will be sent out in my monthly newsletter July 1st, so make sure you subscribe!  I love how pretty it is, the perfect pop of blush pink!  The little wooden owl was a ¢25 garage sale find and those polka dot baskets are from H&M that I bought a few years ago.  The pug bookend is from Home Sense, and I’ve tried for ages to find the right spot for the little guy!  It fits so perfect here, holding up some vintage children’s books that were my dad’s when he was a little boy.

Kiel and I went with a double wide rocker for L’s room.  This chair is perfect for cozy snuggles and nursing sessions.  We bought this so that both my babe’s could fit in here for story time and it’s my favourite spot to cozy up and nurse Lo in the evenings.  Behind the rocker is the sweetest little cloud light that I bought from Ikea and a wire dream sign that I found at Michael’s.

I used two sets of curtains in here, since it is a wide window and I wanted a drapey feel.  The dresser was another online find and I replaced the knobs with pretty glass ones to freshen it up and make it a little more feminine.

On the other side of the rocker is our gallery wall – house shaped shelves that I painted, a little owl figurine and a DIY cloud garland.  It’s simple and I love how it turned out.  The rose gold pouf is from Home Sense and I’m obsessed with it.  I had a little sheep hanger here as well, but I think it looks better without, I’m still trying to figure out the perfect spot for it. 🙂

This was a fun room to decorate, I didn’t rush it and was able to thrift some items, DIY others, and pull decor from our home to use.  I love decorating this way and find it relaxing, plus after painting the nursery, I found my new favourite paint colour (we ended up painting the whole basement with Edgecomb Grey, along with our master bedroom lol).

I think little miss L loves her room too!
