I was in limbo for a while after moving into this new home post-divorce. In order to make the furniture I had work with my upstairs living room, I had to take it apart and make it into a ‘mini’ version of sorts – it actually worked like a charm! At the end of the day though, I really wanted this older couch to be put back together and live in my basement living room where it belonged. It fit better in that space, was more ‘movie room’ ready, and it just made sense that way. I was also craving something a bit cozier colour-wise upstairs and this beautiful caramel sofa hit the mark!
Before I did some furniture rearranging; this was shortly after I moved in –
It was fine, I made due with some old pieces from my previous home, a new tv credenza and a bunch of art I collected/thrifted. I had painted the closet door at this point but not much else. Shortly after, I had the floors all redone, painted the railings all black, re-painted the entryway and closet area a warmer grey, and worked on some decor styling/shopping my home.
This is the most current rendition of my living room, small changes really do add up!
My mom and I were able to move the white couch downstairs by ourselves, it’s quite light when you divide up the pieces (they just click together with a clip). Then I gave the whole living room a good clean and vacuum. I actually love rearranging my home, a deep clean tends to go hand in hand with moving things around, plus the space feels new again!
My new sofa is the warmest, coziest, caramel colour, and is ALSO is a sofa that comes in modules. Bringing it upstairs was easy, and I just clipped the two sections together and voila, new couch!
Pet friendly leather?? Obsessed.
It is the Nathan Aniline leather sofa from Valencia Theater Seating (in the colour ‘caramel brown’) in a trendy modular cloud sofa type of style. It’s stunning! I was worried about having leather furniture in my home, what with Mary Poppins being a cat and all of that, but it’s made with a pet friendly leather. I also throw a pretty throw blanket on the sofa usually just to be safe anyways. She likes sleeping there (I don’t blame her, it’s beyond comfy) and I like to work WITH the pets and kids and not against them. It would be impossible to train her to stay off the couch so why bother, you know?
I also moved some decor around and restyled a bit. Falloween has started to make it’s way into my living room. I added a few cute skeletons and pumpkins, the kids absolutely love them. I’ll share a full fall/Halloween tour very soon! I’m finishing up some decorating this week.
Thanks for stopping by xx
