My Cozy Living Room Tour & Frame TV Gallery Wall

I absolutely love my cozy home and this living room. The fact that it’s not a massive sq footage is one of my favourite things actually. I really wanted a smaller home after my divorce (I almost felt like THIS house might be a touch too big for me even, there’s a lot of yard space and I didn’t want to worry about having to maintain too much as a single mom).

It really ended up being the goldilocks of homes, and it’s just perfect. I think why my mom (who moved in with me last year after my dad suddenly passed) and my kids and I love it so much, is because last year was full of so much pain and chaos, there was a lot that happened behind closed doors regarding my ex-husband and our kids – this home felt so peaceful and safe for them. It radiated with good energy and we felt it during the first walk through. I have a few more things I want to finish up with in this living room but it’s basically completed.

I took some photos the other day and thought it would be fun to show the before and afters with a cozy living room tour.

My tv wall gallery wall is a favourite of mine…

I adore my frame tv and bought it last year for myself, so I wanted to include it in a fun gallery wall on this one large wall in the living room. My home is somewhat open concept so I thought a big impact like this would be perfect in this space.

I’ve rearranged this wall a bit, adding more prints, then taking them away. I think I found the sweet spot though. It’s not too cluttered, and the print sizes work together well. The horse print was painted from my Grandma’s house. It’s such a beautiful colour and I really love including sentimental things from my life in my home. I think that’s what makes a space feel cozy and lived in.

One of the most common questions I get asked, is where this tv console is from.

The console is made by a great Canadian company, Cozey. The console is made from four individual segments that you can lock in together to create a smaller or larger piece, depending on what you need in your home. It provides a lot of storage! I like that it’s low to the ground as well, and even better – it’s a versatile piece. So if I end of switching out in this room, I can utilize these individual pieces as nightstands, end tables, or make it shorter if that works better. I’m a big fan of shopping my home, I get bored with things staying stagnant when it comes to my decor. I’m always rearranging or moving things around so this type of product is perfect for me.

My living room couch was a beautiful investment piece (and pet friendly too!)

I have always been hesitant about leather, especially with Mary Poppins lounging around the house. I’m so shocked at how well this couch has held up. I knew it was a ‘pet resistant’ leather before ordering, but still. I had my doubts. It’s in perfect condition still and we’ve had it for about 9 months now? The colour is ‘caramel’ and it’s really quite comfortable.

My living room is pretty tiny (the photos can be deceiving for some reason) so furniture is a tricky fit sometimes. I went bigger size wise to create a statement, and to make the space feel a bit larger. Having lots of smaller pieces will make a room feel cluttered and busy.

What do you think of the transformation so far! I love how it’s come along, it really feels like me I think.

I have a kitchen tour coming up with loads of before and after photos PLUS some small space design posts. I’ll share tips for creating a cozy but spacious home even when it’s lacking square footage!

xx Megan
