I adore fall time. I love the feel of a fresh season and can’t get enough pumpkins, hot coffee and cold morning walks. Around our home, I’ve been slowly adding simple touches of fall decor, bringing out the cozy knit throws and sweater pillows (I’m also working on a really easy sweater pillow DIY that I’ll be sharing soon!). I love the addition of soft neutrals like cream and blush pink. Also why does copper feel like fall to me?? I love it and am totally lusting over this gorgeous Martha Stewart kettle!

The easiest way to make your home feel cozy, is to add in some layers. I love soft knits and have the coziest throw for our couch. I bought it years ago from Home Sense, and it is the perfect blanket to curl up on the couch with. Add in some pillows and a fuzzy faux sheepskin rug for chilly nights. I sometimes drape our sheepskin on our piano bench sometimes, or over the side of our ottoman.
Candles are the basis of hygge. They add this amazing warm, soft lighting that is so soothing and cozy. I have a few yummy pumpkin spiced and vanilla candles dotted around our main level. My absolute favourite scent is Bath and Body Work’s ‘fireside marshmallow’ but lately I’m loving ‘salted caramel’ (plus it has the prettiest copper top #priorities).
You can’t decorate for fall without adding pumpkins! I love my diy heirloom pumpkins that I made the other week, they sit on my kitchen shelves with some wooden cutting boards to add some warmth alongside a few of my (long suffering) succulents.
If you come across any small ceramic pumpkins (I got these from the Dollar Store), give them a quick coat of spray paint to make them over easily.
It’s gets really frosty where I live (like -35°c or colder during the winter) so slippers are a must with our tile and wood floors. I love these cozy slippers and anything with a pom pom gives me the heart eyes. I’m putting these on my Christmas wish list!
