Hi friends!! We moved into our home last October and I finally feel like our bedroom is finished. It’s undergone a few changes until I finally made a design plan (for free with PicMonkey) to narrow down what I was going for and how I wanted everything to look. I don’t know why I didn’t used to use this approach because it makes decorating so much easier. I wanted our bedroom to be cozy, neutral and a touch boho. I love minimal spaces but I like my ‘things’ still haha – so this is kind of a boho inspired hygge bedroom tour.
Here’s the design board I made…
And here’s a little room tour of the finished space…
I partnered with Bed Bath and Beyond with finishing up our master bedroom and found everything I needed there! They had an amazing selection of lighting, textiles, furniture and decor products, definitely a one stop shop for decorating a room.
My favourite thing was the upgrade in nightstands. Our old ones we have had since Kiel was a bachelor! They were the classic espresso wood (along with everything he had bought back in the day lol) and I eventually painted them white, and then a dark navy colour. They were really heavy in this space. I couldn’t wait to find something with a raw wood look to it and our new ones are stunning. A total boho feel to them.
A fluffy, soft white duvet cover plus extra pillows on our bed and a wool throw tossed on was perfect for our bed. Our empty corner that was begging to be made into a reading nook finally got its wish with a mid century modern chair that I draped a faux sheepskin rug over, I also switched out the artwork that was there for this wood print that is a bit moodier.
The only thing I might do now is hang some curtains at some point. Our window is beautiful in here and I would love to highlight it a bit more. That’s sometime down the road though – for now we’re loving our cozy room and my favourite is when we all pile onto the bed to snuggle and watch a movie (or when the kids crawl into bed at 5:30am to ‘sleep’ with us and we end up with elbows in the face or a booger on my cheek *sigh*).
