New Cozy Lighting In Our Bedroom (See Ya Boob Lights!)

You guys! Fall is here!

… actually we’re a sneeze away from winter basically where I live (we’ve already had snow fall twice!). So I’m in full hygge mode – and I’m wanting to create cozy spaces in our home with beautiful accent lighting and lots of textures and throw blankets. Does anyone get like this with the change in seasons? I updated our lighting in our bedroom and it’s amazing how much cozier this bedroom is! Our home is a new build, but the ceilings are dotted with the dreaded basic builder flush mount (aka the boob light!). They are totally fine and work great, but they aren’t that pretty to look at are they?

When Hudson Valley Lighting reached out about working together with their Mitzi line, I lept at the chance because helllooo, their lighting is GORGEOUS. It was hard to choose but I ended up going with a semi-flush light (the Margot) for our ceiling. I can’t believe I installed it myself (this was my first time doing this!) and it was a 5 minute fix – full disclosure I had my dad walk me through it because I was super nervous about the wiring LOL but it was actually very simple. Take a look at the before and after to really see how it pops now!

^^ sorry this is the best before photo I could find, I usually cropped out the ceiling light lol

I love the updated look and how it’s still simple, clean and minimal. The glass bulbs give me major heart eyes.

Along with our new ceiling light,

I added in some beautiful Riley sconces beside our bed. They give our room a warm glow in the evening and it’s the perfect hygge lighting for our bedroom. I love the dark bronze contrast with our white shiplap – so fun!

^^ Jersey’s face though, I’m dying haha, she’s like put. me. down.

I brought up a few cozy essentials up from our downstairs storage as well.

Our bed had a few extra pillows added to it (it’s the fluffiest now!) plus a warm wool throw for the end of our bed. I also added a pair of cozy knit poufs for some texture.

With the lamps gone from the nightstands, I brought in some of my favourite home decor books plus a little plant that I’m working at reviving. (Don’t mind those crispy ends lol!) I also have a salt lamp on our dresser that gives a rosy glow to our room (and whether or not it’s true, salt lamps are said to promote positivity and cleanse the air, so I love keeping it on in here 🙂
