You know I love my easy DIYs – see here, here and over here 😉 When the kids and I were playing with their chickpea bin, I was stacking all these little felt balls and thought they would look pretty cute made into a felt ball garland and hung up on our fireplace! I grabbed a few felt balls in pinks, browns and white, plus a few paper hearts I bought from the dollar store last week, and made a really cute, simple Valentine’s Day garland in just a few minutes.
I have meant to start being festive for all the holidays (and not just for “fall” and Christmas haha). I really have been slacking the past few years because my kid’s were so little and didn’t seem to really notice. Now they are both a little older, especially my son, and I want to have a home where all the cute, fun, silly holidays are celebrated. Does that mean I’m going all out for Valentine’s Day? Umm, no. But cute garlands like this are a start!
I found these pom poms (that’s how they were labelled) at the dollar store but they are actually more like a felt ball! Such a steal! They’re really dense and thick and are perfect for sensory bins (which is how we use them) but the fun colours and high quality make them the perfect felt ball for crafting out of – and that price point cannot be beat. I measured out some bakers twine and just threaded some felt balls/pom poms along the twine.
For the little heart garland that I layered in with my felt ball garland, I strung some paper hearts carefully with twine.
These were hung with command hooks on my mantle and aren’t they just the cutest! So festive and such little effort.
Tag me on Insta if you make these!
Have a great day! x Megan
