Cute Christmas-y Toddler Boy’s Room Tour

Cute Christmas-y Toddler Boy's Room Tour

This is the first year I put a few Christmas-y touches in my kid’s rooms. Adding a few adorable Christmas things to my little’s rooms has been the cutest thing ever. They have been loving it and M actually full stop hollered “What?? Is this my room??” when he saw the little tree and garlands I added haha. He was the most excited!

This is a little room tour slash easy ways to add Christmas cheer to a kid’s room

I haven’t shared this space yet and there is still a few things I want to get done before doing a full room tour (like painting his dresser). But, done is better than perfect and I couldn’t wait to share a few pictures with you! I will source everything for you at the bottom of my post too.

If you want to check out my previous post for that easy DIY art hanging display, here it is.

I added a mini Christmas tree, and I have a few cute Christmas ornaments to give the kids to put on their own trees. I kept things very minimal and didn’t want anything too distracting for bedtime, so a small tree without lights is what we went with. But I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to add twinkle lights to every corner of his room LOL.

I’m a big fan of layering rugs,

I think it adds a fun touch to M’s room (plus the road map rug is one he actually plays on with his cars!). Adding in our new Lorena Canals Happy Day rug really tied everything together in there. It added a really fun print and grounded the space. The best thing about this rug (actually all of Lorena Canals rugs) is that aside from being really soft and cozy, they are machine washable. So if something gets spilled (very important since this is a lighter rug), I can toss the whole thing into our washing machine. That’s amazing right? I chose this lighter rug, since we have a darker grey brown carpet (it looks much darker in photos than irl) and it brightens up M’s room a bit. The print is really cute too and would work in a ton of different spaces in our home, in case we decide to change things up later on.

The cute little bookshelves are just Ikea spice racks that I painted white (they’re really old and have held up amazing through kid’s rooms and moving).

This is the dresser I’ve been meaning to refinish. Forever ago I added a white wax to the top, not sure why I did that haha, definitely didn’t give it the look I was going for (this dresser used to be in our room). I ditched that idea and eventually we moved the dresser to M’s room. I’m thinking a fun, soft yellow, or maybe a muted green or blue… I can’t nail an idea down so I keep putting it off lol. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

I built this shelf in a few minutes with this easy tutorial (I left the wood natural, but gave it sand and made sure to remove the stamp on the end of the wood). I shared more info in my Instagram highlights (like how to find the right wood, getting it cut for free etc).

I had so much fun decorating this room!

Things were kept simple but really fun (I think lol). I didn’t want anything to be in the way or things my son could fiddle with at night. He’s a tough sleeper so it’s lights out with blackout curtains and a sound machine. A tree with lights would be a big no-no haha, they would be turning on and off all night long! I will share my sources and a few are linked with affiliate links (check out my disclaimer and info regarding that here, if you were interested 🙂

If you have any other questions please feel free to send me an email! Have a wonderful day xo Megan
