I’m so happy with how this project turned out and I love our new counter so much! I finished this a couple of weeks ago and have been relishing all of the extra folding space and added storage underneath our counter top. (I’m a total organization/storage freak lol.)
On the far right, I now have a large cubby to house our laundry basket and garbage (below). Then to the left, there’s a small nook that has my step stool. Everything is nicely tucked away though and isn’t cluttering up the space.
I used Behr eggshell paint in ultra pure white for the counter top, and it’s hard to see the contrast between the counter and wall, but the walls are actually a really pale grey/green shade.
I couldn’t wait to show the counter off, so I’m sharing some pics now, and will be posting a tutorial on how I made it later next week. It was honestly so easy (compared to what I was thinking) and if I can make something like this, literally anyone can lol. I had no idea what I was doing, to be honest, and kind of made it up as I went. Everything turned out great though and adding the counter in completely changes the feel of the room. It’s much more ‘built-in’ and complete now, plus our washer and dryer look much better and taller.
