Halloween used to be my least favourite holiday becaaaause I don’t like being scared. I hate horror movies, I hate the feeling of suspense and am completely freaked out by all of the creepy things that go with this holiday. Spiders are the worst, scary costumes and the haunted houses you have to walk through, absolutely not happening. I’m a total wimp and I’m cool with that lol. Having kids though, I’ve really decided to show up for the holidays, even the ones I don’t “love”. Lately, because it’s been so fun experiencing things through my children’s eyes, I’ve started to enjoy Halloween a lot more, which has been surprising.
We keep it really tame and decorate with bats and pumpkins and all the cute stuff like that so it’s fun plus we watch a lot of cute fall/Halloween movies. One of my favourite things to do on a cold, cozy fall afternoon is to snuggle up on the couch with a bunch of blankets, pop some popcorn and watch a movie with the kids. My kid’s don’t’ like scary movies either so it’s perfect. I created an amazing list of Halloween movies that kids of any age can watch and nothing is too spooky. I have to say that the Hotel Transylvania series is one of our favourites. We’ve watched both movies so many times!

Cozy Movie Date Must-Haves:
This popcorn maker is hands down the best I’ve ever owned. Every kernel gets popped. I also bought some of this to try out as well, it’s not the healthiest I know, I know but it’s supposed to give you that movie theatre popcorn taste! I’ll have to update once it arrives and we try it out.
Cozy blankets are a must – I like to pull off the kid’s comforters and snuggle up on the couch together (this one is super affordable & the duvet cover I have in my daughter’s room). We also bring their out pillows too, basically, we make a nest of soft things on the couch lol.
Lastly, everyone gets their own popcorn bowl, parents know that bickering will start immediately if they have to share a snack bowl. We have these cute retro popcorn bowls but honestly, if it’s just the kids and me, I make a big bowl and use this stainless steel mixing bowl to mix it all together, then divvy it up into small Tupperware containers for them. I sometimes add in a few m&m’s, pretzels, or fun things like that too. Anyways, I hope this list helps you find some fun seasonal movies that your little ones have fun watching!
