It’s May and the snow has finally melted! We had the world’s longest winter ever this year, basically 6 months of straight winter and tons of snow, so I’m completely ecstatic that it is finally spring!
Now that all of this snow has melted, I have tons of ideas for our back deck and lawn. Currently it’s in this state:
Not terrible, but not amazing. I want to make this space feel cozy, comfortable and a place to enjoy the warm sunshine in the summer. Currently this…
… isn’t giving me that. Lol
So here is my idea for our patio, which I will be working on in the next couple of weeks.
I want lots of soft, blush pinks and pastel yellows to brighten up our deck. We currently have this cute wicker bistro set (a similar style to what is on the mood board), so we’re keeping the furniture minimal on the deck and adding lots of greenery and planters. I’m planning this makeover on a teeny (because I love a challenge and I think that inexpensive DIY’s are inclusive and everyone can be inspired by them). I have shopped for a few things and will be making some fun decor as well.
I have plans to make a big, wooden sign (it’s actually the first project that I will making), and we will also be staining the deck, along with some fun pillow DIY’s.
Our lawn is… sad. Haha! I’ll be sharing some tips on how we fix those pesky pet spots on the lawn. Can’t wait to share the before and after!
I want tons of greenery, flowers and a place we can relax while the kids play in the yard. Home Hardware was gracious enough to sponsor my patio and lawn makeover and I couldn’t be more excited to be working with them!
While I was shopping at my local Home Hardware store, the employees were so helpful and knowledgeable. It was a great experience and I found some really great planters as well as everything needed for my outdoor DIY’s.
Check out the cute bird feeders I was melting over:
And this bee house! Someone head to Home Hardware and get this please!
I debated buying some seeds to plant, but I think I’m forgoing the garden this year and just focusing on some flowers and beautifying the lawn. I’m really excited for my new hose and hand held watering wand! (You know you’re an adult when… LOL).
Also, check out these gorgeous planters!
So now with the sunshine, I’m looking forward to the next two weeks! Follow along with me on my Instagram because I will be sharing the behind the scenes process and showing sneak peaks of everything.
Have a great day!
