I was so excited to visit my sister in Calgary! (I even put it on our fall bucket list)
She lived with us for half a year when we moved to our new house and it was so fun having her around, so I couldn’t wait to visit her (we even left a day early!). We spent a total of 10 days in beautiful Calgary, and it was really the first time I’ve ever been to the city. I will say thank goodness for GPS because this momma would have been so. damn. lost. Omg. The drivers from Red Deer to Calgary were super aggressive and all of the freeways had my head spinning on the drive in lol #smalltowndriver
It took us 9.5 hours to get there, which was fine because my little man is generally a grumpy traveller (aka lots of stops and whining in the car seat). We did buy him a new car seat though the week before (the Diono convertible carseat if any one is interested) and it is amazing! It made a huge difference and was so cozy and comfortable that he was able to get a good nap in during the drive (which is basically unheard of with that kid).
The neighborhoods around my sisters place were so pretty, with huge, craftsman style homes and beautiful trees ~ I loved this street in particular…
We spent a lot of time going for walks with Jersey and checking out the city…
Marcy had to work a few of the days we were there, so I took M and we cruised Chinook Mall, picking up a few cutes finds plus these delicious Purdy’s chocolates (we don’t have a Purdy’s in my city and the himilayan sea salt caramels give me life ♥)
^ his face says it all #momimoverit
The Treehouse Indoor Playground was ginormous (really fun and there were so many different play structures, if you’re interested – bring your own socks too!) We spent one snowy afternoon there, M was obsessed with this little Bob the Builder ride (we didn’t even put money it since it was broken) but it was by far his favourite part of the playground #moneywellspentIguess lol!
^7 months pregnant & no effs given when it comes to making my kid laugh lol (these little cars were actually so fun though!)
The farmer’s market in Calgary was so awesome – I have market envy! There were so many cute shops and tons of beautiful items for sale, plus a little coffee shop called Perk n’ Beans (cute right?) that made me the tastiest chai latte (he doesn’t even charge extra for almond milk!).
^don’t mind the crazy fuzzies all over my shirt #inneedofalintroller
We ate delicious pizza and sipped on our drinks, then swung by the cute barnyard themed indoor playplace for toddlers. M. had. a. blast. (don’t be fooled by his face lol, I swear my kid smiles). Plus check out this cute buggy for the kiddos…
We spent a lot of time playing in parks, shopping, eating and strolling around the city ♥ Calgary is so beautiful!
^super cute ‘library on the go’
We were so sad to leave & had a great visit with my sister – I wish we lived closer but it’s fun to visit her in a new city with so many awesome kid-friendly things to do.
